More about Dr Hewitt

Dr Hewitt grew up locally before going to Southampton University for her medical training. She then moved back to Devon to complete her hospital training before joining Tavyside in 2019 to complete her final year of GP training. She chose to stay at Tavyside as a salaried GP before joining the Partnership in 2022. Dr Hewitt is the Child Safeguarding Lead for the practice and also enjoys her role training medical students and other junior doctors.

Dr Hewitt says ‘I love being part of the Tavyside team, everyone is truly committed to working together to do the best for our patients.’

Outside of work Dr Hewitt enjoys cycling with her husband (as long as there is a good coffee stop on route!) or you can find her trying to keep up with her toddler and sprollie dog on the moors.

*Disclaimer: Although GPs may appear to work only part of the week, this does not indicate they are not working full time. A full-time equivalent is defined as 37.5 hours per week, and a GP working three days a week often meets this requirement. Additionally, GPs frequently work beyond regular hours to address emails, patient correspondence, professional development, and attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
